Shoplifting
Dear,
We are working on a digital reporting system that allows us to process shoplifting reports faster and more efficiently. We certainly do not want to lose sight of the quality of the report, so that we can conduct a targeted police investigation. After all, it is not just about registering your tax return.
We also want to work in a customer-oriented manner with this system, so that a declaration can easily be made for you as well. Without wasting time and without having to physically move.
This system is not yet ready. However, we would like to provide you with a temporary declaration form that you can use. Please read the terms and conditions carefully before using.
Only use this shoplifting report form if the police cannot conduct immediate investigations. If the suspect is still in the area and can be traced immediately, call 101.
This declaration is not considered urgent. We undertake to process these as quickly as possible. By using it you agree to this.
You can email the completed document and any photos/scanned documents to pz.midow@police.belgium.eu
Or send to:

State identity card and Kids-ID of Belgian nationals, travel passport, driver's license, theft or loss
No more reporting for loss of identity card residents with Belgian nationality
It is not necessary to report the loss of an electronic identity card/kids ID to the police. You can therefore immediately present yourself to the population service of the municipality.
This decision was made on the basis of the current regulations, in order not to create an unnecessary administrative burden and to simplify and facilitate the procedure and for residents.
The old procedure applies to the loss of other residence documents and an electronic identity card for foreign nationals. Theft of electronic identity cards must also be reported to the police first. With the certificate of theft you can then visit the population service for further processing.
Immediately call DOC STOP on the free number 00800-2123 2123 to block the electronic functions on your card. This way you avoid the risk of fraudulent use of your document and any financial consequences (e.g. opening a telephone subscription in your name, purchase by post, etc.).
This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
For non-Belgian identity cards, we refer you to your embassy of your country of origin.
Vehicle registration certificate, report theft or loss
File a report with the police as soon as possible.
In the event of the loss or theft of the registration certificate, it is the holder or owner of the vehicle concerned who must make a declaration. In the case of a company car, either the manager himself or someone authorized by the manager must file the declaration.
When making the declaration, you must bring the vehicle whose registration certificate has been lost or stolen for verification of the chassis number as well as part I or II of the registration certificate, depending on the lost/stolen part.
After the declaration, you will receive a certificate, which you can send to the Vehicle Registration Service (DIV) via registered mail, if necessary through the intermediary of your insurance agent.
